Two Case of Occupational Asthma due to Toluene Disocyanate(TDI) in Polyurethane paints spray painting process

Abstract
Isocyanates can induce occupational asthma in exposured workers. Isocyanates are most significant cause of occupational asthma in our county. Studies on the pathogenesis of isocynate induced asthma have yielded conflicting results Immunologic reations were suggested by several authers.
Isocynates are used in the manufacture of numourous products, including insulation, foam filling for furniture and polyurethane paints.
We experienced two case of occupational asthma due to TDI. We 1performed a allergy skin test, methacholine brochial challenge test, TDI¡ªbronchoprovocation test. Case 1 was a 45¡ªyear¡ªold male worker who had beenemployed for 8 years. He began to a shortness of breath and cough .5 months ago. He was showed negative responses on skin prick test to TDL Methacholine bronchial challenge test and TDI¡ªbrodaprovocation test revealed early asthmatic response. Case 2 was a 31¡ªyear-old male worker who had been employed 2 years and 1 month He began to a shortness of breath and cough 1 year and 5 months ago. He was showed negative responses on skin prick test to TDL Methacholine bronchial challenge test and TDI brochoprovocation test revealed early asthmatic response.
It was suggested that TDI exposure could induce occupational asthma.
